Looking back over the earlier posts, I noticed Tony attributed the plants to Altmans. I was under the impression that there was a different supplier on the east coast. Do any of the pots or tags have "The Cactus Collection" on the side?

I'm just curious as there always seems to be more variety at stores in the east.

Yup, the pots they came in all say "The Cactus Collection". Most of these came from Lowe's, as I don't have a good local supplier for these things.

Thanks! Sure is. Harlequin Rasboras are some of my favorite fish. Now that the tank's had a chance to grow in a bit, here's a recent picture.

OK, well that is Altman's trade mark, so I'm sure that is it. I know they have a east and west locations. They must operate fairly independantly to give the larger variety out east.

Love the flowers and the "other" hobby! That tank looks serene. I'll bet that one look at it relieves any stress, and that if you sat and stared at it you would become totally mellow...

I really have to start checking this place more often. This is a great forum!

In another thread somewhere around here, I was trying to figure out how I was going to keep these things dormant for winter. My garage gets too cold and my basement is too warm, and I don't have any connections with someone who has a heated greenhouse, but I finally came up with a pretty good solution. At my work, the back room is heated just enough to keep it above freezing during the winter, so I picked up a few of those 3x2 plastic containers, uprooted all the cacti (that was a chore  ), and placed them in the boxes. My boss limited the space I could use, so I couldn't keep them potted through the winter.

It's working great so far. I've only had a couple casualties, and they weren't real healthy to begin with. I sold a few off, so if spring ever comes again we can start this all over again!

Hey, thanks for the update!. So did I hear correctly that you had to unpot all of your plants?
