I found my Nopalxochia ackermannii out in the garden area blooming, with another bud yet to open. How it survives out there with the winter cold, rain, the blistering summer sun, and the constantly dining snails I'll never completely understand. I guess it's just a surviver. This plant usually blooms big time in mid-late May, but this was a welcome surprise.

Daiv is right, these are quite hardy, mine was a cutting taken from a large plant grown outdoors even throughout our cold wet winters.
