Myrtillocactus starting to crest

Post by CoronaCactus »

About a month ago i noticed this M. geometrizans looking a bit odd at the top of the main stem as compared to the tops of it's 2 arms. As i watched it grow it became clear that it was starting to crest!! I'm looking forward to watching it create whatever it's going to create 8)

Awesome Dude 8)
I think I would cut off the arms and let the crest go mad.

That is so cool. Love the spine coloration.

Thanks guys.

I have another, smaller crested one with 2 arms that fan out almost all the way around, so i'll probably just leave this one alone and let it do it's thing.

Originally, we got him to offset the crested one...i guess he didn't get the memo 8)

awesome! 8) very lucky
i'd also remove the other normal arms so it puts all its energy into the crest.

14 month update.

I’m really liking how this is turning out, a dichotomous crest!
Not sure if the middle will fill out, but for now it’s looking pretty awesome! 8)

Yeah, it's like having a mini-saguaro crest in your back yard!
