Astroloba or Deuterocohnia?

Post by GeorgeD »

Hello all,
I have been trying to id this succulent and hoped that someone could confirm my attempt?

My initial thoughts were that it is perhaps Astroloba herrei or A. spiralis, but it appears that Astroloba, in general, have no distinct marginal leaf spines, unlike my specimen.
Also possesses extremely sharp terminal spines, distinctly finely striated undersides of the leaves, and relatively sparse, small marginal leaf spines.

Google image searches placed it as a Deuterocohnia, perhaps D. brevifolia. Another suggestion was Abromeitiella chlorantha.
Any input is always appreciated!
Cheers,
George
