E. Subdenudata?

Post by ElieEstephane »

Hello everyone.
I have more than a dozen echinopsis subdenudata plants with different variations but all of them have very short spines and wooly areoles.
In this specimen the body is very similar but the spines are way too long for what i've seen but it does have a little hairy flower bud. Hybrid maybe?
Thank you

Looks like a Parodia (Notocactus) of the ottonis group to me?

To me it looks like an Echinopsis oxygona.
Buying a cactus a day will keep the madness away.

I guess if the flower bud survived the transplant it will give me an idea about the species.
Thanks everyone!

After further research im seeing similarities with E. Oxygona and E. eyriesii.
I guess im just happy with labelling Echinopsis sp.

I'd say it's a Parodia ottonis, Echinopsis oxygona has sharp ribs not rounded ones.
I also see a flower bud on the plant, wait until it blooms, it should be yellow with a red center if it's a Parodia ottonis.
