Mother Plant Care after taking a cutting?
Hello! My mom has an old succulent that we took a cutting from yesterday. I know the "new" plant will have to dry for a little bit but what about the mother plant? The plant was uprooted to get to the base of the second plant. The mother plant was placed back in the pot with fresh soil and the cutting set to dry. Is there anything we should be worried about from the cutting spot on the mother plant being under the soil?

I wouldn't water for a couple weeks, give that wound a chance to heal before it gets wet.

I would have let the cutting area on the mother plant dry for a few days before putting it back in the pot. If it doesn't dry and heal over, it may start to rot.

Thank you! We are keeping a close eye on it. So far it is seemingly doing well.
