It's not E. multiplex though Karin, probably something like one of the Paramount hybrids?

Yes, Maja, who cares what the correct name is..... Multiplex, oxygona, a hybrid name.... The plant and flowers are stunning!!
Thanks!!

Echinopsis hybrids are almost a hobby in themself, just as with so called Epiphyllum hybrids. There have been quite a few collections of hybrids produced, such as the Paramount and Schick hybrids in the USA.

http://echinopsis.eu/thumbnails.php?album=10" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also some from the UK like the Abbey Brook Nursery hybrids.

Unfortunately most don't have the character of true cactus species, being about as interesting as rose stems when the plant is out of flower and unfortunately like roses many of the hybrid flowers are very similar to each other.

That may all be true, Dave W, however, the flowers are beautiful, just like Roses! One has to be pretty jaded not to appreciate them, hybrid or not!

Yes but the flowers last for only part of the year whereas attractive bodies are easy on the eye for the full twelve months! :D
