Hello from Nashville, TN

Post by JWells »

Thanks for having me. New to cacti but loving the ones I have. I bought a few earlier this year and had to go back for more. :)

Hello from Florida.

Howdy do! Jump in any old where around here. Might add the "Nashville, TN" part to your profile too for the sake of cultivation advice.

Thanks again everybody. After today I'm up to 40 cacti in my first year w/ a handful of succulents. I'll get some pics up soon. I just recently finished repotting most of them in a better soil mix, so it's still a work in progress. I've already learned a lot in this forum so its been helpful and a lot of fun.

Welcome from upstate NY! My sis lives outside of Clarksville. She works 12 hr shifts, 6 days/wk, so haven't gotten her "converted" yet. I keep insisting "a couple" of cacti (famous last words  ) would be NO time to care for! She did get to visit my collection when in town @ mom's funeral this Spring, and she did like them :D !

I've managed to fill up a 6x6 pop-up greenhouse and expecting a new shipment from Miles2Go next week. I'm not sure where I'm going to put them. Hahahaha Actually, plan on bumping up to a 9'x9' in August. I've picked up a few Adenium obesums and few other caudiciform succulents that I'm really enjoying as well. I just need more space ... and money! Hahaha Thanks everyone.

See I answered your post on a different thread a year ago, JWells  Advice @ the book still the same -- $ & space -- the bane of all of us  'cuz if you're going the GH route, next year it'll be a 10' X 30'

Hello to Nashville from a Floridian who spends the summer in Ontario. Welcome to those who have recently acquired a cactus hobby/obsession. Going at it in full grandeur buildinga greenhouse for your pets. Hey in my summer apartment we moved the dining table to the living room so the kithchen can be a solarium for our summer collection. I need a good babysitter for the winter. Luckily I spend most of my time in Florida where many of my cacti, agaves and succulents roam free. Have fun with your collection Bobby Z

Hoteidoc, I think that's a foregone conclusion. Hahaha! Right now I rent and hoping to buy a house over the next year or two. At that point I'd already planned on something (bigger) and more permanent in the GH department. :)
