They are both sharing a 40gal for now, once the chuckwalla is a bit bigger he will get a cage built for him outside.daiv wrote:Nice - would like to see the whole enclosure you have them in.

Looking across:
The chuckwalla sleeps under the log (and was out seeing why I turned his light back on, in that pic), the desert iguana is in bed by 5:30pm every night. He pushes sand out to block himself under the slab of rock I have set up as a hide that you can only see front right the corner of, the left half is buried in sand.

Re: Share your pets here
What a beautiful lizard!! I'd love a desert Iguana and i'd perhaps even risk kitting out it's vivarium with live plant.
Anyway, here's my lovely Green Iguana, Igloo. Just lazing around, like the lazy lizard he is.
Re: Share your pets here
Nice Iguana! Those are neat lizards!

We don't have any exotic animals, but here's a pic. of Josi our only goat now. She's well over ten years old and in pension like us. We lost her daughter and stall mate last year. We had already decided that not to let them breed any more as it was just too painful having to get get rid of the kids each year.

Tracey - time will tell. Your family might be due to expand very rapidly in the future then.

Re: Share your pets here
Here's a shot of Ciu-cia who we sadly lost just over a year ago. She was the sweetest goat you could imagine. Not a nasty thought in her head and a perfect mother, unlike HER mother (Josi pictured above). She took ill with a cough and never re-covered. The vet said that she had asthma and put her on medication, but it didn't help much and she was so unhappy that in the end we had to make the dreaded decision. I personally think that she she had picked up a lung-worm, the symptoms all matched. The other pics are of our daughter in the stall cuddling her babies.

Re: Share your pets here
How cute! She's gorgeous. I've also been contemplating getting another dog. My weakness is pekingnese. Already owned two in the past. We have our Peggy who is perfect but can't take her in the car with me as she was so car-sick when we used to take as a young dog that now she has this fear of the car. She is however one of the most obient dogs I've ever known although at the same time has always been quite nervous owing to her nasty start in life before we took her to live with us. Had a labrador who was also very well trained and super special to me but his trouble was he couldn't help following his nose given the chance and ate literally anything he found. Not a good choice in our environment as there is nothing to stop them going off all over the mountain. Never went too far nor for long but we were afraid more his safety in case someone shot him or he caused and accident etc. Anyway, This is Peggy, our little angel of the moment........
She has collie dog in her her mother has similar markings but with long hair. When aanyone aks what breed she is I usually say "minestrone" (a bit of averything) in England she would have been a "Heinz 57"

Re: Share your pets here
In America, she would be called a "mutt" some of the best dogs have a little bit of other breeds in them.
