It is "Wandering Jew", here is a description from Wikipedia:
"Tradescantia pallida is a species of spiderwort (a genus of New World plants) more commonly known as Wandering Jew, a name it shares with the closely related species T. fluminensis and T. zebrina. Other common names include Purple Heart and Purple Queen. It is native to the Gulf Coast region of eastern Mexico. Edward Palmer discovered the type specimen near Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas in 1907."

Yes purple queen is what they sell that as here. That stuff grows in almost every garden around here.

And in gardens here. it makes a nice accent with that color, but I think they get too scraggly looking in the ground. They work as hanging container plants too.
