nice photos Darryl. I really like the Oroya gibbosa.. for a cactus I have never heard of .. that one is cool!
The Rebutia seems happy
The first Escobaria is neat
and lastly I love the flower from the O. basilaris XO. santa-rita flower... is that from the 'Baby Rita' strain of hybrids?
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
lovely plants and flowers, especially the eriosyce and the wilcoxia!
oroya is a very intrigueing genus, there does not seem to be much information about it
With apologies to the late Professor C. D. Darlington the following misquotation springs to
mind ‘cactus taxonomy is the pursuit of the impossible by the incompetent’ - Fearn & Pearcy, Rebutia (1981)
Hmmm i think those hybrids might be e.fendleri and e. dasyacantha because i have them very close to each other and they flower here for me around the same time.
A cactus and succulent collector who especially likes Ariocarpus. …Though I have a bit of everything! Want some pictures? See my flickr! I also do art and such.
