Coontie seedlings for Opuntia.

Post by martenfisher »

I want to trade some coontie seedlings for Opuntia. I have a bunch of them you just say what you need. They make corn cobs in the center. males make a pollen one and the females make a seed one.
I need the opuntias before I ship. I have not gotten some packages so I have to make an I get mine first policy. These are a protected species in Florida but all plants are from my own captive stock and not from the wild. The like shade and ammended soil. Can freeze on top as long as the ground does not freeze hard. Once established tough as nails.

I have the longer thinner leaves. Some may also be corkscrew but I can't tell with a seedling. I don't like the shorter fatter leaves that is normaly used in landscape. No character.

Anything that is not humifusa, or jumping. A humiusa monstrose, double flowered, or variegated would be ok. By jumping I mean plants that will break to the touch. Reason is I that have some some that broke and my cats drug them around and they got stepped and sat on. Otherwise I want to try whatever. No specifics. Trade for trade. I like surprises.
