UHU in cactus grafting

Post by sabbar »

Dears..
I wonder if anyone has any experience with UHU as a glue for grafting.. it is a good adhesive agent "for paper and cartons" at least.. it is said that Uhu is nontoxic.. see link
http://www.saunders-usa.com/uhu/?brand=93

does that mean its not harmful to plant tissue??
I will try with some Gymnos. today and keep you informed with results
cheers

as long as it drys fast

It will probably work if it dries fast enough, that's a big feature of super glue - you can hold the pieces until it dries to make grafts that would be otherwise impossible.

Here's a super glue graft I did a few weeks ago.

Hi promethean_spark
Your graft looks very nice and contrasting colors.. wish it will heal and grow..
I tried UHU yesterday.. and it was soooo slow to dry.. I am not quite optimistic for these graftings.. lets see.
To GrAfT or NoT To GrAfT.. this is the question

Some people seem to use stretchy plastic food wrap with good results, I would try that if instant bonding glue doesn't seem to be available in your area. I have not had a chance to try the plastic wrap technique yet but I would like to.

Different grades of UHU. I think you applied fabric.
