This morning I found a post on the BCSS forums about a new journal available as a free download, so of course I downloaded it and read it. I liked it very much and was prompted to contact the author (who was also the original thread poster) He gave his blessing to cross post as it had not made it to CactiGuide. (I see now im a tad late, the link was posted...I'm posting this anyway to give it it's own discussion thread)
It is about 10Mbyte so will take some time to download. You don't have to be a member and participation is encouraged. Relevant advertisements can be placed free. Send me a list of your spare plants, literature etc.
I hope that Forum regulars will enjoy this new journal format which is surely the medium of the future. I also hope that it will receive an international readership. Please let me know what you think!
With apologies to the late Professor C. D. Darlington the following misquotation springs to
mind ‘cactus taxonomy is the pursuit of the impossible by the incompetent’ - Fearn & Pearcy, Rebutia (1981)
Yes, a great look at this White Sands trigloch, a fascinating plant. This Cactus Explorers Journal is of amazing quality in general, and loaded with content. if it doesn't speak to the eventual demise of print journals, I don't know what does.
