See the photo of above mentioned graft of 15 species of Cereus jamacaru (f.monstrosa) on to Opuntia humifusa
(01.09.2011).
Please, if you made multiply cacti grafts inform me in this topic... :| I collect examples of such successful grafts...

They're brilliant. :)
-What do you have all of the seedlings temporarily sitting on after you cut their roots? Is that a piece of cut cactus?

-How long did you leave the tape and spines attached?

-Did you core out the growing tip in order to allow only the scion's to grow?

Sorry I can't help. Just questions.

1) - seeds temporarity sitting on Opuntia (humifusa) plate (10 - 20 - 30 min). It's very comfortable!... for grafting process...
2) - about 3-4 days
3) - for successful grafting on to areoles I usually cut out the top of stock with the aim of areoles "awakening" before 1-2 days. This method also useful for grafting on to Pereskiopsis areoles!

You have have some pretty cool grafting techniques Skif. They're very inspiring, I'll have to try some multiple aereola grafts with Opuntia next spring and I'll post pictures when I do.

Grafts on to Opuntia areoles? This very interesting!
Opuntia - i.e. Austrocylindropontia subulata? Or another stock? These grafts very interesting in science relation!

And also, graft method on to Austrocylindropuntia subulata by the using of coins and laboratory weights.
I understand your probable favourable criticism . It is an experiment... :)

Little Hamatocactus roots already formed easily two month ago that very simplify degrafting and growing these species in future.
