Cactus in Ohio

Post by Kilishandra »

Hi everyone, I'm new here and want to show off some of my cactus. I'm in the process of re-potting everyone after learning more about cactus soil from everyone on the forum. I am also in the process of making computer records of all my plants so I can keep track of them better.

If I call a cactus by the wrong name, please correct me - I love learning more about my plants and it will help me care for them better.

Awesome, its never bloomed for me before, I cant wait to give it a sniff! I'll look online about how to self pollinate it, I would love to collect some seeds.

I'm going to take some more pics this afternoon, its just been so hot and humid I don't want to stand outside with my collection!

Nice variety, that Agave potatorum 'kichjokan' is a beaut!:)
I think that your Haworthia ssp. might actually be Aloe hybrid 'Pepe'
Forget the dog...Beware of the plants!!!

I just looked up 'Pepe' and they look really similar - a mystery solved.

I saw the Agave on Ebay and just had to have it, it and the other are my first agaves so I'm praying not to kill them.

Nice plants. I agree with Tony, that A. potatorum cultivar is really nice.

Hard to tell the size, but suspect your Opuntia is O. humifusa, very hardy, fit for Ohio!

I have that A. potatorum cultivar too, and I love it. Apparently I love it so much that I bought it twice, because for some reason I have two. One is pupping like mad.

A most satisfactory plant!

Thirsty for knowledge. Please water me more than your cactus!
