Planted some new avocado plants outside a couple weeks ago and they seem to be doing well.
Also planted my to pomegranates out front, but I am still counting on my camera phone, which died by the time I made it the front yard to photo them.

Avocados

My Dad had a prized Avacado tree. After he died my Mother sold the house and moved on... The first thing the new owners did was to cut the Avocado down!
It has been years now, and Daddy is still rolling in his grave!

It’s not the fall that kills you; it’s the sudden stop at the end.

I was just talking to a friend who is having her 25 year old Avocado tree taken out. She planted it when she bought the house. Unfortunately, it's gotten overgrown and partly rotten, so she's having it removed.
I'm guessing you should probably trim them to keep them at a manageable height.
Good luck with yours!

Yea, there can be a lot of maintenance when they get to the mature age. I have never had one for more than 3 years with all of my attempts. Mainly the cold has gotten them. I am hoping these two (with just a little over a years growth!!) are the strongest bunch I have had and might must the Florida "cold". They are about 2.5 ft high now and, if I had a real camera, would show you the growth each week...limbs are sprouting everywhere!
