The will to live

Post by lancer99 »

Some of my cacti got frozen over the winter. There were a few that were weren't obviously dead, and I didn't give up on them...hoping they might make it.

They're mostly really ugly and scarred, but I'm going to keep them. They're survivors!

Cleistocactus strausii...it seemed like only one stem survived:

...but there's two littl'uns peeking out from the base: Image

Two stems of Echinocereus rayonesensis seem to be making up for lost time:

You'll have to take my word for it that this Notocactus/Parodia leninghausii really looked at death's door for a long long time. Now it looks reasonably healthy and is growing some huevos:

I was so convinced that this Copiapoa was dead, that I didn't even bother to repot it after the pot burst from freezing:

It's alive and growing!!!

Is the Cleistocactus pupping? From a "dead" stem or from the "live" one?

Tough Copiapoa! Who says they're not frost-hardy? :D
