Mojave / Great Basin Road Trip

Hi all,

I'm taking the following trip in September:

Does anyone recommend any cactus places? I'll be in Death Valley which, I understand, isn't a cactus bonanza. It'll be hot, so I'll likely stay in the higher elevations that day. Are there any particular mountains / hikes (accessible by a normal sedan / four door vehicle) in Death Valley that have cool plants?

Other cactus places I'm intending on seeing include Alvord Desert / Steens Mountain, Leslie Gulch / Owyhee River, and the Painted Hills. From Vegas, I'm heading straight to Beatty, NV, so there won't be any Red Rocks. But I'll be stopping at the Bristlecone Pine forest and Alabama Hills near Lone Pine, CA. Where else should I make pit stops?

Cannot go wrong on seeing Yosemite. This year with all the rains, the falls should still be running heavy. Great site.
