Mesquite Valley Growers Visit - Tucson, Arizona (Pictures)

Post by Vipassana »

I grew up on the east side of Tucson, Arizona near some pretty incredible desert nurseries (B&B Cactus Farm, Tanque Verde Greenhouses) and Saguaro National Monument. My parents still live there and while visiting a couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to stop by Mesquite Valley Growers.

My father bought some Mesquite trees from this nursery 25+ years ago when it was just a small lot. It's now 26 acres and growing. Recently, they worked hard to expand their cactus and succulent section, which is coming along nicely. I was this ---> <--- close to taking home one of their beautiful Aloe dichotoma or Aloe Africana and a large Stetsonia coryne or Trichocereus tersheckii, but we didn't have the right vehicle with us. ](*,) I settled for a nice, small Aloe variegata instead. Next time for sure.

Here are some pictures in no particular order:

They always seem to have a surprise or two, so I try to make sure they are on my schedule on my Tucson nursery runs!
Looks like they have some nice Cleistocactus!
