strombocactus seeds from succseed

Post by cefalophone »

I am putting together my seed order for this year and I noticed something odd. On the succseed website they say they will not send strombocacti seeds outside the eu. This is odd to me because I was told by a friend in the states that that is where they purchased theirs from.I emailed them about it but I just wanted to ask you folks here as well. So has anyone had any problems ordering strombocactus seeds from them?

If it indeed will be a problem I guess I'll just order from elsewhere.

I'm guessing that it's something to do with the plant being in CITES appendix 1 and international trade not being possible.

I ordered my strombocactus seeds from Mesa Garden in November 2014. They have seed collected from several areas.
