A few corrections

Post by Robb »

I'm pretty sure you're already aware of this Daiv.
But it says Matucana Grandiflora has an Unidentified flower but below it shows the flower in full bloom.

Thanks again - I really ought to run a database query and get all the "unknowns". Will try and do that today.

Hello Daiv. In CactiGuide there is Parodia aureicentra (Parodia muhrii). It says it has red flower. I have one with orange flower. Do you need a photo of it for the guide? I can send you one.

Daiv. I found another disparity on THIS site.

It says Flower: red.

But on the Joel's pic there is a white flower.

just as an aside many flowering plants can have white flowers even if they are others. In a facebook group for OPuntiads there is a white flowered O. basilaris pictured. It's neat.

Keep in mind in the descriptions they are going for the normal color that is on most of the plants and not rare genetic disorders that create white flower colors. I don't know how exactly it happens but the white flowered O. basilaris for instance is very rare and shouldn't be included as a ssp or anything. Echinocereus and a few other groups can have the same thing. So basically the guide is following what the normal color of the flowers SHOULD be :)
