Cacti guide app

Post by Robb »

Hi everyone!
I have an idea... what if we made an app for cacti identification? it would be like advanced search but the encounterabiltly would only go up to rare and it would have one photo with a breif blurb about the cactus.
Like the idea Daiv?
Buying a cactus a day will keep the madness away.

I am actually looking to re-skin the site to something "responsive" - AKA automatically fits on phones and similar devices. Since I want to tackle a bunch of new content and articles this winter, I think it would be best to do so in the new format.

I guess my delayed response is an indicator of slow progress. :-?

Yes, I'm working with a friend to improve (modernize) the site. It is largely cosmetic, but I want to improve some functionality - particularly on the detail pages. There are a lot of options for displaying images that just weren't accessible to me 10 years ago. Hence the long line of images that require you to scroll down to view:

http://www.cactiguide.com/cactus/?genus=Carnegiea" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here is a sample showing some of the ideas. - This is FAR from a final copy, but you can see the general idea anyway..

It looks as if it will be a big improvment with more information. From what I can see it looks good and easier as well. =D>
