Hi from Florida!

Hello all,
I am new to the forum and hope you guys can help! I have been growing a cactus that seems to be flourishing however there is brownish growth somewhat raised growing all over it and I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not! I'd also like to know if anyone knows what kind this is do that I can do some research to make sure I am caring for it properly. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
