Your second picture shows a M. lasiacantha (according to the file name), but the title says M. magallanii.

I bought the seeds as being M. denudata, which is now considered to be part of the nominal form of M. lasiacantha. But I have recently found that the SB143 population is supposed to be M. magallanii after all...
They have flowered before, the M. gasseriana since 2015 and the other since last year. They are a bit stunned from suffering a vicious attack of mealybugs.

The seeds you got from me were from different plants, but with the same collection code. I got them from Chris Davies a few years ago.

Turbinicarpus valdezianus, just under 1 cm across, and Tubinicarpus schmiedickeanus subsp. andersonii (panarottoi) RH151 a little larger. Aren't babies cute?

This has been a dry and cold winter, but since it's sunny the greenhouse warms up quite a bit. Mammillaria of the Lasiacanthae series are usually early bloomers and some Turbinicarpus flower throughout the winter.

I am seriously considering watering this coming weekend. Although the weather has been rather cold (for our standards, at least), because of the clear skies and lack of rain temps go up during the day and the plants can't be bothered to stay dormant.

I wish I could also pour next weekend. But we have frost, it is winter.
So I'll have to wait another 2 to 3 months until I can pour.

Turbinicarpus are generally very easy to grow from seed and start to bloom at a very early age. It is once they get older that you have to be careful with their thick roots.

It is very rare to have frosts around Lisbon, and when they happens they are always very light. This year has been different because of the lack of rain and almost permanent clear skies, the greenhouses heat up very well and the plants beg for some water...

I am a bit jealous about your weather. My Pediocactus get some water in one and a half month. All others will have to wait for late March to get their first bit of water.
