My First Flowering

Post by thomas »

My Echinopsis Subdenudata -Domino- opened last night. The buds started opening at around 11:15pm and was fully open around 4am. Feel like a proud papa. This is my first cactus flowering.

Good photos. Night bloomers are hard to show off. My discocactus flowered this week & the pix I took don't capture the glow in the dark sheen.

Thanks for replies. It was a long night. The full open pix were taken this morning at about 10:45am. I would bring it inside for a quick pix an then put it back in its spot. Of course, I have a whole folder of pictures and these are just a few.

Here's my Disco - should have brought it in like you did but we were just sitting out on the porch with a glass of wine & I grabbed my cell phone.

Looks great, especially for a cell phone pix. Does that Disco flower regularly? What kind of wine? I'm a Merlot junkie myself - - -

My Echinopsis Subdenudata really seemed to like the hot weather. The flower stocks sort of grew really slow until the temps got into the upper 80's(f) to 90's and then it went nuts. As you can see in the pictures - there are three more stocks shooting up. Hope to have more flowers in a month.
