Agave potatorum 'Cubic' pups reverting?

Agave potatorum 'Cubic' pups reverting?

My Agave 'Cubic' has produced a pup which looks like a normal shoot--and not at all like the cultivar. Will it calm down and take on the characters of the parent plant, or is it possible for pups to lose the abnormal character?

I'll grow it as long as it doesn't have glochids. Gaudy flowers a plus.
