Great photos & plants as usual. Love the Cleistos, of course, but the Blossfeldia is really cool!

Tristan,
That particular plant was sowed by our friend Juergen Menzel. Yes, the flowers are unusual for a Turbi.

Re: Bob's Cactus Collection 2015
Really love that Parodia horstii! The flowers are brilliant!
Jealous of your P. sellowii...had mine for years, but it just sulks every year and hasn't grown a lick.
Beautiful as always!

Re: Bob's Cactus Collection 2015
Tristan,
I agree, Parodia horstii has one of my favorite flowers. As for Parodia sellowii, I have had this plant for at least 15 years. It has grown from 3" across to about 6" now. It has never failed to flower each year and seems to be one of the least fussiest plants that I have.

Re: Bob's Cactus Collection 2015
These pictures were taken from the first half of May. May has turned out to be a cloudy and cool month in the San Diego area. This weather is perfectly normal for the area and much preferred to the scorching sun that we have experienced the last few years, especially in 2014. Besides, the overcast skies allow the Echinopsis flowers to remain open an extra day which is a treat for me and the local bees.
Enjoy!

Re: Bob's Cactus Collection 2015
What an amazing array of colors and shapes!
Of course, love the C. laniceps (and am *still* incredibly jealous as I wait patiently for mine to bloom!), but that Rebutia is really nice too...I just can't seem to keep Rebutia alive in the valley - they just seem to melt in the middle of the summer despite protection.
I'll have to enjoy them through you and other members of this forum!

Re: Bob's Cactus Collection 2015
Tristan and All,
Rebutia's seem to thrive in shade and indirect sunlight. Full sun while the sun is high in the sky will bake them for sure! I bet mine would do even better if I could offer some colder temperatures during the winter. They rarely experience temperatures below 40F here. Of course my Melocacti and other more tropical plants like this just fine
Bob
