Well, I use it just about 5 months, it does not help against night cold and I dismantle it in early October. That plastic material it is made of disintegrates for about 2 years under our sun after it should be replaced, but it's cheap. Also consider some ventilation wholes because in sunny days the upper shelve space easy warms up to 50 C or more if closed, so be careful.

Ah, you have confirmed all my concerns with these. I suspected this may not work so well year round, though it must still be helpful to be able to keep plants outdoors an extra month or two.

That's right. But each of the plants should have a sunny place indoors as well, to give us a joy of contemplation when the time comes.

These can flower from ~1 cm or so in diam., but I got this one been grown up, 4 years ago. It is older then 10 yrs. now (~ 16).

My mineral mix for seedlings and some of the adult cacti, rocks that I put on the wholes or the top of the soil are ~ 10 mm.

It's Rebutia time again. Even days are still short and the sun is low here, just ~18 degr. above the horizon at noon.

T. valdezianus. Some in bloom, some will skip the season.


Here we go. No water was needed for it so far. The very first flower on this plant (as I remember).


Haworthia herbacea decided to bloom these days as well. Even kept at shady spot.

Pereskiopsis wants his leafy steam back. I'll let it stay until Epithelantha scion is still dormant.
