Lovely flowers I also like the way that the Opuntia and Stonecrop/Sedum compliment each other!
This summer is not over yet!
The last Opuntia flowers faded ...
... and just stonecrops were left blooming outside.
Large Lophophoras did it again,
and so did the Discocactus, even twice, (August and September):
Some smaller flowers I saw:
Mammillaria decepiens.
Turbinicarpus schwarzii.
Some seedlings indoors have been transplanted already to give them space to grow:
Echinocactus grusonii.
Outdoors, Opuntia humifusa, got really huge just for 2 - 3 months from seed:
Potted Opuntia made thicker stands.
This summer was unusually hot and dry. Even this Coryphanta, quiet for some seasons, prepared some buds.

This Mammillaria did just one flower recently, saving power for the spring? Mammillaria muehlenpfordtii.
I got this plant days ago because it is in bloom. P. chrysacanthion.
Resembles P. penicillata without flowers.
A triple-headed Mammillaria spinosissima.
A grafted variegate Matucana seedling.
Some Echinocactus grusonii seedlings wintering, still in the seeding mix.
This Ariocarpus did a bud that faded after several days of cold snowy weather. The same happened with my Ferocactus latispinus buds. Days a very short here now.
The Schlumbergera does not care about the sunshine obviously.
In other hand, winter-flowering species like this Turbinicarpus prepared to show up soon.

I have never seen a Astrophytum myriostigma branch like that ... so very, very interesting. And if I can say THAT about just that one cactus, then the rest of your collecion is ...

I have a Mammillaria spinosissima, and it is not NEAR as red as yours is ... that is just AMAZING. You should be PROUD of that one bud. And a great number of others here also.

That plant was sold as "red-headed irishman" and it looks like one! I hope to see some flowers from it this spring.WayneByerly wrote:I have a Mammillaria spinosissima, and it is not NEAR as red as yours is ... that is just AMAZING. ====

It is L. williamsii, I beleve. Flowers are very light link or the photo is overexposured. It looks like a pumpkin, I know.ElieEstephane wrote:What's that white flowered lophophora George? I've never seen one wtih such a distinct rib structure
Back in times I had another one with more normal shape and flowers.

These have several subspecies acc. to D. Hunt: ssp. tepoxtlana; ssp. pilcayensis and the nominal one. Maybe this makes the difference. There are several cultivars. Here a couple of mine. Doesn't show well but then smaller one is very red.
