Re: Minime8484's C&S Collection - 2015
Been awhile since I last posted - life's gotten a bit busy, and I'd been out of town for work for a bit.
Anyhow, here are some bloomers from the past several weeks to try to catch up: And though not a bloomer, had to share my latest acquisition - a plant I'd been trying to track down for a LONG time! So excited to finally have a chance to grow it. Arrived a bit curved to fit in the box, so I'll be slowly straightening it up before it goes in the ground in the late Winter.

Tristan,
I would have guessed that your Cipocereus was a Peniocereus. Interesting plant! I hope it does well for you.

Interesting observation, Bob! I hadn't thought of it, but they do appear to be eerily similar at this stage.
Apparently, this species is long and slender and also even develops a tuber early on; only as it gets older does it get more of a branching columnar look. Definitely a different look altogether than the other two Cipocereus I have (bradei, minensis).
This species was also previously placed in its own genus (Piptanthocereus), so I guess that is not surprising.

A few more the past few days.
This poor thing got hammered by some violent monsoon storms...
This one I obtained as Frailea cardenasii, but to this date, I've not been able to find any reference to this name, except from the ADPLS site that has " "MG 434, 18'95 Aa3 ref-365""; not sure what this all means..... Anyone with any ideas on the correct name for this taxon would be great!

Actually "cooled down" to 104F today! Brrr...!
A few from the past day or two:
First, a flat of Mammillaria grahamii I'm storing for our local C&S society:
And some others that brighten the garden: And, excited to get my first blooms on one of my Denmoza's:

Good evening Tristan,
beautiful flowers!
Hope is the plant not too cold at 104 ° F.
On the Denmoza rhodacantha I'm jealous, my plants have never bloomed.
(only one Hybrid)
In April, I also photographed some Mammillaria grahamii, your plants with flowers are of course much nicer!
Best wishes and nice weekend,
K.W.

Has been a crazy few weeks - much of it out of town (including 10 days in the Big Bend area of TX seeing some cool cacti!). So, here are a few pics of bloomers the past few weeks to catch up.

Thanks all! Still some bloomers...I imagine blooming will pick up a bit now that the temps are expected to moderate a bit here in the desert.

Not much new lately, but things should pick up with the recent temperature moderation. Asclepiads especially are starting to bud up.

Re: Minime8484's C&S Collection - 2015
Looks like the year is coming to an end the same way it started. My Micranthocereus densiflorus opened this thread back in January, and so it is only fitting that it closes it as well - my plants are going crazy with buds right now - just on schedule. It was a great year with lots of new blooms. I'm looking forward to what 2016 will bring; be on the lookout next month for the start of my 2016 collection thread! Have a great end of the year!
