A little cloudy and overcast today, so only one new bloomer for the year:

Nice! My favorite Echinocereus!
I'll grow it as long as it doesn't have glochids. Gaudy flowers a plus.

Tristan,
The local bees seem to like your Echinocereus too! Nice flowers on that Cleistocactus ayopayanus too.
Thanks for sharing!

Tristan,
I have a question for you. Are some of your plants grown under shade from a tree or something else? The reason I ask is that plants such as your nice Eriosyce curvispina would be scorched in my garden if not grown under partial shade.
Thanks!

Re: Minime8484's C&S Collection - 2015
I've managed to create any number of micro-habitats in the various areas of my yard - all the way from full-blast sun to mostly shade.
Most of the South American species simply can't handle the mid-summers here in the full sun, so I have them planted in spots like under a Palo Brea (my ideal shade tree because it let's in a lot more light than larger-leaved trees, but just enough shade to keep things underneath from etiliolating), or on the E side of a bush or small tree or rock.
Some are surprisingly resilient for non-natives and have no problem in our full sun (most Pilosocereus for example and most Echinopsis) and many species of Cleistocactus (incl. some Borzicactus; Loxanthocereus seems to prefer spots like under the Palo Brea).
The key for me when trying to grow something out in the full sun is to provide it some protection the first full year (small pieces of screen placed on top does the trick); but, after that, it's on its own, and it is survival of the fittest from there!

This week has been pretty nice -but, next week or two should be spectacular with several species blooming for the first time for me. Until then, here are a couple from this week so far.

Tristan,
The spines on your Arrojadoa rhodantha ssp aureispina are much longer than those on my Arrojadoa rhodantha. Nice plant and flowers!

Your Echinopsis "June-Noon" is spectacular! I am certainly adding that one to my wishlist!
Buying a cactus a day will keep the madness away.
