Thanks for the kind comments and yes, I don't think it is either (never trust those big box store labels!)

Stunning, I think the echinopsis have the most attractive flowers for deffinatee.
And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.
I dont mind
I dont mind.
I DONT MIND

More Sempers blooming in the garden!
Meanwhile inside my Echinopsis subdenudata gives me another nice bloom!
....and a quick seedling update on those seeds Steve sent me about an year ago, kinda stressed, and in and organic substrate (this will change once it gets older), but at least growing these nice cute little spines!

Re: gemhunter 2014
To start off, here's a outdoor succulent in flower....
clockwise from top: Echinocereus reichenbachii ssp. perbellus (Potter Co., TX), Discocactus crystallophilus, Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus v. sladkowski (San Fransico?), Ariocarpus trigonus v. horacekii, Echinocereus reichenbachii (miniature), Echinocereus reichenbachii ssp caespitosus. O. macrohiza inthe smaller pot, clockwise from top in the larger pot: O. polyacantha (Utah, magenta flower), O. basilaris v. aurea, O. polyacantha (Utah, orange flower) Now, some questions to make sure things don't die.
I hear Discocacti are hard to keep alive.....and flower, any tips?
The top dressing on the Discocactus is turquoise, will this mineral cause problems?
The pots on the Ariocarpi are a bit small IMO, but I don't have any slightly larger ones, can I keep part of the taproot sticking out like this? How hardy are the Opuntias/ Echinocerei? *I live in zone 6A
Now, new additions from Miles arrived yesterday! (I do have questions if anyone's willing to help)
Potted up.... (1:1:1 of pumice, coarse sand and loam/compost? for the plants, perlite and commercial cactus soil for the pads, which are unrooted)clockwise from top: Echinocereus reichenbachii ssp. perbellus (Potter Co., TX), Discocactus crystallophilus, Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus v. sladkowski (San Fransico?), Ariocarpus trigonus v. horacekii, Echinocereus reichenbachii (miniature), Echinocereus reichenbachii ssp caespitosus. Re: gemhunter 2014
the ariocarpi look great but may need deeper potting. they need bit deeper pot thats slightly wider then its depth. Mine are all buried so they are flush with the soil level.
