It's been a while since I've checked in, but I continue to be in love with all your cacti and the nice photos. I find the simplicity and delicate coloring of the Pereskiopsis is especially pleasing.
Catch a falling star--but don't try it with a cactus!

Thanks all - and I'm the same way...although I rarely post to all the Member threads, I review them all and continue to be amazed - and incredibly inspired - by all the cacti and grower enthusiasm!
Not much new blooming lately except my first bloom of Grusonia (Corynopuntia) emoryi.

Nothing better to bloom in the heat of mid-summer in the desert than a beautiful Frailea!

Frailea flowers are always amazing! Do they all self polinate?

I agree! I don't know if they all do, but I would assume so. Someone more of a Frailea expert could probably tell you more definitively than I.Brunãozinho wrote:Frailea flowers are always amazing! Do they all self polinate?

I'm not an Frailea expert but I've noticed that they all self-fertile and they even also produce seeds without open flowers.
But I prefer its open flowers.

I've never seen such a large clump of M. longimamma. Beautiful!

A rather busy day in the garden, despite the forecast of 105 degrees (and 110+ later this week!).

- Echinopsis 'June Noon' - I've posted the flower on this plant before - which is stunning in and of itself; however, the flower that opened today was weird.
Although the bud was a single bud, right before it matured, the end of the bud started to "split" in two...and the flower(s) that opened today look like two almost completely separate flowers crowded into a single calyx. - IMG_0588.JPG (32.69 KiB) Viewed 2576 times

Very pretty! ...and also very interesting for your Echinopsis 'June Noon'
A cactus and succulent collector who especially likes Ariocarpus. …Though I have a bit of everything! Want some pictures? See my flickr! I also do art and such.

Re: Minime8484's C&S Collection - 2014
Been a while since my last post, but things slow down considerably during the summer, and I figured people might get tired of too many Cleistocactus photos!
Here's the latest for today:
Echinocereus brandegeei always starts blooming in late July or early August and blooms through September; a little bit late this year, but two flowers opened today. Only one inflorescence on my Fouquieria burragei has the pinkish coloration apparent, primarily on the rachis; all of the other inflorescences in various stages are with pure white flowers and pure green rachi as is expected in the summer.
