OK.

This year again I have some, nobody told them it's winter at the door step.

This mammillaria is at my care for 2 years and some month and didn't bother to show any Will to flower. This time it decided to do so:

Her sister is another story. It shows off every year:

This Matucana is in Will to flower for who knows which time this year:

And this one is on a list of first time flowers also:

How do u water your orbea? They are winter dormant correct so do u give it water in winter or only when it starts to look shriveled?
I have a few and not really sure how i should be watering them since this is their first winter with Me i got them in January last year.
I also have a duvalia and hurina and a stapelia flavoprupurea

Hello KitteKAT.

I don't water my stapelias over winter. Almost that is. I mist them a bit or water just a little once or twice during winter, but then again they can get streched if there is too much water.

So if you choose to water them...go easy! :)

Duvalia and Huernia are the same for watering.

I bet you heard already much more succulents die becouse the overwatering than they do becouse of drought.

I know that this is not an orchid forum, and I guess that you know this already, Maja, but you can buy a growth hormone called Keiki Paste to encourage further blooms or even new plants to grow out of the old flowering stems. I got mine on Ebay and it came from Malasia.

Thank you Onzuka. But I think I'll pass.

I have too many Orchids already and I cant say NO to one more now and then. They came relatively cheap here, so I don't mind buy another one. And since we are in new home (it is 8 years already) my Orchyds are doing so good I have to give some away to my friends every now and then (and I usually don't do that - or better I hate to give them away).

But I'll keep this 'Paste' in mind in case they choose not to do so great anymore. In that cace I Will need it.

Majcka - how are your "holiday" cactus doing? On schedule or early again? My "Halloween" doesn't have room for one more blossom. Sue

St. Martin's day is THE MOST IMPORTANT anofficial holiday here in Slovenija. As (I'm sure you heard already somewhere) Slovenes are big wine lovers this Saint is very important to us. He turns grape must into real wine. His name day is November 11th. But as this often came in work week, we usually celebrate Martin's Saturday which should be first Saturday after Nov. 11th. But as people love to celebrate, many of them do it one Saturday before and one Saturday after his name day.

Thanks for the info - that's my kind of saint. I'll have to add him to days to celebrate with a glass. My birthday is Cinco de Mayo( a minor Mexican holiday) which is a huge party time in my area, with a large Hispanic population. Our local Mexican restaurant makes a big fuss over me - tequila with sparklers. Sue
