Nice collection, Robb -- I love those flowers! BTW -- your Copiapoa sp. does look like tenuissima.

That's weird cause i have that on my list, cause i have an ocult or something like that it's purple with small spines Maybe cause the pictures dark i couldn't tell what it was or maybe I'm blind! Lol

Thanks for confirming the Copiapoa, Steve. KittieKAT, the plants colour depends on the amount of sun it gets. Mine gets shaded afternoon sun, but it could probably take more.

I'm still betting on the "im blind" answer on my behalf lol, i just love dark cacti, black, purple,brown, red..etc..etc colored skin looks soo cool and beautiful with the spikes

Great pictures, i wish more of my collection survived the devastation (topic posted in: thank you......NO!) I'd really love some flowersto brighten up me the the children's moods, but your plants and picture's will have to do!

:) your welcome, but I'm mostly sad that the kids from the non profit program i run had their plant's their and mostly all are now dead :( hope I'll be able to muster up enough donations to keep the program running next yyear, can't wait to see more pix from you hun hope all is well inyr cacti land!

Robb - righteous collection you have going on down there. What is the name of the evil beastly-looking thing in the top right of your first 'setup' group photo? The one that you could hold up a liquor store with, below the Mammillaria deherdtiana photo. That thing is wicked. I must have one.

That should be a Tephrocactus articulatus v. papyracanthus, it's spines are sharp, but are too flexible to do any real damage. In my opinion, it is one of the best of the Opuntia tribe. They're pretty common (At least here) so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one.
