So, haven't updated for a while!
My little cacti, that I've grown from seeds, are now out of their bags! They seem to be doing quite well.
Also, the christmas cactus I had, lost all it's flower buds .... BUT! It seems to be settling in just fine, because it's already started to grow new ones! However, my mothers christmas cacti does not seem to be doing well at all :/
Also, I've got a new cactus. I don't know what it is. For valentines my father gave my mother a small rose plant in a pot, and in the pot was also something they mistook for being some sort of plastic decoration in the shape of a heart. But the rose died after a while, but the green "thing" was still fine of course. They were surprised when I told them it was in fact some type cactus! Good thing I told them, or they would have just thrown it away, thinking it was just decoration , anyway, I ended up getting it since my mother had no interest in keeping it.

Re: Cactida's cacti collection
That's cool, so your first cactus was one you raised from seed yourself, that's not so common.
The last one is a Hoya kerrii, its leaves are interesting with that heart shape, I have one just like yours since one year now, it is still developing new roots, hasn't grown anything until now.
It came from Sweden, it had this same thing like yours on the base of the leaf, some kind of organic fibre with a rubber band around it (I took that off), I suppose they are from the same producer.

Oh thank you for letting me know what species it is! I'm planning to give it new soil, but I need to get some more sand to mix with the soil and such.. I'll get around to it heheBrunãozinho wrote:That's cool, so your first cactus was one you raised from seed yourself, that's not so common.

Re: Cactida's cacti collection
The Hoya kerrii leaf will (almost certainly) never develop any new growth. It will form roots and survive for years but since it has no growing point there will probably never be much more.
