Is the Pelecyphora stombiliformis self fertile and if so, did you pollinate? I need to get going on the roof for my outdoor shelf now, some of the plants looks like they could use some more light.

I think I almost killed one of my Loph last week. Two good waterings with a week apart made it turn pale green and then it started to make bubbles from the growth point :-k it looked like some foam on top of the plant, when I looked closer it made bubbles...really weird, or some kind of super photosynthesis going on, but I doubt that :). Have you seen anything like that?

Yeah I have try self fertilisation with the stombiliformis just wait and see what happens. I leave the top of my green house open in the summer too so the bees and other pollinators can get at the flowers. My lophs get quite a bit of water in the summer but never see them produce foam. Try looking up froghopper larvae, they make a foamy nest on green growth might be one of them.

Looking really good! The unknown is probably Sedum sp. Sedum album is pretty common up here.

Which stenocereus do you think? I eliminated pruinosus far two many spines and not pruinose at all. I thought maybe something from the old trichocereus group which now fall under echinopsis.

The plant on the left looks exactly like mine. Here are a couple of pictures of mine - See if it matches up to yours.

This loph has started fruiting which has thrown some doubts over the species. It was bought as lophophora viesca which I took to be a fricii albiflora. Following some previous comments on this thread decided it was probably a koehresii but the fruit sens far too red any further comments would be welcome. I do have amother fricii and koehreshii and have pollinated this plant with both several times.

Gutting. This looked a bit yellow so I gave it a feel and it's dead and smelled a bit funny too.

Always a shame to lose a plant. You could try to graft the individual tubercles.
