Lovely stuff. :) L. williamsii v. caespitosa is a mad grower. It's the kind of plant which will split any plastic pot you put it in, or push all the soil mix out to make way for it's growth!

Happy growing!

Yeah I know they get big with age, to be honest it looks like its grown already. I stayed over some friends this week end so aint seen it for 2 days and it looks different already and I only just potted it in friday. The turb seems happy too, its gripped in to the soil really quickly and feels nice and firmly set.

Beautiful sunny day today in Wales, It got up to 25°c in the gh today so a few of the hardier plants got some water. Also the break in the weather has triggered growth on the new t.lophophoroides, there is a bud/fruit in amongst the fur. I can't make out what its yet but does look pink and I cannot make out any sepals or scales so hopefully its a fruit , it did have dried flowers on the top . So, big thanks to John and Norma Henshaw at croston cactus for supplying me with potentially several plants and the fun of more seeds for the small price of one very pretty grown up.

A full update on my collection. Very annoyed with my self after taking these pictures and as my clumsy self usually does, I knocked over the rebutia fiebrigii seedlings. I rescued all of them and split into two pots. They should be ok... hopefully. Also noticed my recently purchased gasteria armstrongii is starting to flower, there is a tip of the shoot poking out the centre that was not there when I bought it.

Happy days, the unidentified pink thing in the fluff of my t.lophophoroides was a seed pod. On inspection today I could see it had split open and seeds comming out. I collected six in total so have sown them. Also my l.diffusa seeds have eventually decided to germinate so more on the way.

We are into our second week of dry warm and sunny weather so been realy lucky. I have put the vast majority in perminant residence in the green house now only got 4 pot I couldn't fit in so they out in the garden during the day and back inside on the windowsill at night. Once the nights stop freezing over they can stay outside.

Your cactus are cool. Here are a few cactus I grew from seed way back around 1998 a pink flowering variety called decipiens.

Really slow growing and in the winter they really shrivel up.
