Wow you have so many amazing looking plants =D>  !! I have a request as a new grower trying to learn as much as possible about these plants, can you please post the name of the plant with each picture? It would greatly aid myself and others here who are looking to learn about a specific plants requirements and such. Also when growing so many plants together what have you found to be the most difficult thing to manage? Thanks :)

Fantastic growing K.W. =D> =D> =D> =D> and thank you very much for adding the plant names with the pictures! Was meaning to ask you what kind of growing regimen do you have for parodia's and rebutias, ( I saw a bunch of plants in one of your pictures)! Are they particularly difficult, require any special treatment? Thanks :D

Oh my goodness, these are not easy questions - if you take it seriously. . .
Parodia are very different. ](*,)
Parodia / Eriocactus are straightforward, a lot of water - much fertilizer - much or less sun. :!: :?:
Rebutia are not as complicated they grow like crazy.
A lot of water - much fertilizer - a lot of sun - many flowers!

If I want to know how I have to maintain a plant, I look where it grows. #-o
I do not look in Cacti forums.
I look at maps, rainfall charts, temperature charts.
Then I think about it a little. :-k
If plants grow in the mountains, they rarely get 100% sun.
I look very much to Habitat pictures.
As you can see then, many cacti growing in the grass, under trees and shrubs.

I draw my conclusions. Very few cacti live in 100% sun, in the desert without any water (0%!!!).
For us plant lovers it is difficult to implement advice 1 to 1.
The housing conditions, the climate, the greenhouse, the substrate, the light, the temperature, the humidity, the watering characteristics - everything is different.

And all this plays a major role! Resumé: not a panacea!

Trial and error (not the best way, but simple.)! Observing, patiently try to think without bias.

I'm learning every season, every day. And I'm miles away from a satisfying result. :(

Best wishes

K.W.

Say what   , Are you striving for perfection sir? I understand with any learning process ,its progressive and fluid but you seem to have a very strong grasp of plant growing needs and requirements hence the abundant growth and flowering. Out of curiosity what do you feel you need to accomplish to have a result you are pleased with?

I agree with you 100%, I need to dedicate more time reading up on growing environments and needs of each plant of interest. While I agree no two environments are entirely identical in growing medium, climate, plant health, etc- I like to ask the question so I have a platform of reference when it comes to getting started. My greatest fear is buying a number of plants I cannot provide adequate growing conditions for and end up with a massive die off ](*,) . I will continue my research and look forward to your future picture posts! Happy Growing 8)
