Hi Minime8484 The cleisto on the left I have had IDed as Cleistocactus fieldianus. It seems to be frost tender and I have to give it support to avoid it falling over each year.
It has lots of flowers. Nearly finished for this year Here is another photo of it that I just went out and took tonight.

Here is the Cleistocactus morawetzianus you were interested in last year beside one of my Echinopsis (Trichocereus) pachanoi in flower.

Wow that's a lot of flowers, does it attract bats etc to pollinate?
And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.
I dont mind
I dont mind.

So cool! I'm very jealous!! My C. fieldianus are still less than a meter tall and have never bloomed, but can't wait to get a display like yours.
I finally found a source of C. morawetzianus - but only seeds! So, I now have 12cm seedlings....so, it might be quite awhile before I will see blooms - yours is simply spectacular!

Thanks for posting those - looking forward to any more Cleisto posts in the future! :D

Hi adetheproducer

No Bats that I have ever seen but honey bees and lots of native bees.
This one has even more flowers and this year had them all over rather than just on the northern side. (neighbour removed some trees and it got a lot more sun this year.)

Thanks Minime8484. I've been a bit lazy with pics this summer just gone here. I will have to be more active next summer.

Your garden is magical.
hoping to produce something similar in Texas. As fellow lover of Echinopsis, this is quite inspiring.

Thanks uigonz, They really do put on a great show.
I always think that it would be good if they lasted more than a day.
I actually think I first got a liking for all cacti from their resemblance to coral reefs.
I imagined tropical fish swimming above them :-)

I haven't posted much here recently but flowering season is nearly here again in Australia.
Although this is not a cactus, this picture of a stapelia gigantea that bloomed in May might be of interest.

More cactii photos as the weather warms up here. It is supposed to be 35 Celsius for a day or two next week.
Very warm very early in the season might mean lots of early blooms for me. I hope so. :D

Hi, I've been a bit amiss in adding any pictures this spring-summer in Australia. I just had my last echinopis flower today and the season is just about over over here.
Here are some pictures of flowers from this season. My garden continues to flourish although I have slowed down considerably in getting new varieties, running out of space. I have even been ruthless in removing clumps of echinopsis spachianus which tend to want to take over and then fall over. [-X
I hope you like these images. Larry

That Stapelia gigantea... Looks like it could eat your hand!

Nice shots!

Is your "Espostoa" an Arrajodoa? Or Oeocereus doelzianus or similar? Micranthocereus?
