Nice flower! Quite a nice plant too!
A cactus and succulent collector who especially likes Ariocarpus. …Though I have a bit of everything! Want some pictures? See my flickr! I also do art and such.

Neat looking plant, Maja! Very simple!
Once bitten by the cactus collecting/growing bug, there is no known cure!
There's no 12 step programme for Cactaholics...so I shall just have to get some more!!

Re: Majcka 2012
nice plants. Great flowers you got. BTW I agree with Darryl on the Opuntia that you had, I thought the same thing exactly. The one wasn't O. ficus-indica but rather I think it's O. humifusa.. The other one was A. subduntata and is an Opuntiad but not an Opuntia if that makes sense?
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
Re: Majcka 2012
Did you mean Austrocylindropuntia subulata? Or something alse? (just to find it)Peterthecactusguy wrote:The other one was A. subduntata and is an Opuntiad but not an Opuntia if that makes sense?

Finaly my Gymnocalycium pungens show its courage and flowered:
That is the piece I got from another (abandoned) collection. It was eaten by Red spider mite (is that correct name???) and healed. For a long time it didn't show any will for anything. Then after a long long time some new spines grown and long after that two buds come out of nowhere. Now it blooms - twice.

Re: Majcka 2012
Congratulations on your "Save" from the spider mites -- & your patience for not tossing the plant. As usual spines - to me - are what cacti are all about & the 1st thing I noticed was all the nice white spines on the Gymno. , even if your photo was focused on the blossoms!

Re: Majcka 2012
Thank you Peter. There is one that shows how it used to look:
The picture is bad but it shows how it was brown to the top.
And on this one you could see how it growed. Brown spots are way down:
Talking about strange spines: Here is one old pic (well not that old, bot an older one with my cacti):
All that are not in clay pots are from another collection. Some collector abandoned his collection (now he has bonsais) and gave his cacti to a nursery where I got them (for free, by the way). And this one was first to bloom for me.
