Cholla I put in the ID section, but I think it's safe to call it C. spinsior for sure.
O. fragalis/O. polycantha hybrid
Parodia microsperma with brilliant orange flowers
False false saguaro?
Opuntia hybrid.
M. mystax and Parodia microsperma
Echinocereus subinermus
My driveway. On right, Foothills Palo Verde (Parkinsonia microphylla) , Opuntia engelmannii and saguaro.
Lastly
a volunteer Opuntia phaeacantha (at least I think so) it's around 6 months old or slightly more.

M. baumii I think
E. rigidissima
close up of the flower it's awesome
E. pentalophus bloom. I got one this year, the others got damaged when it fell off my shelf in a sudden wind storm.
Round 4 I think... S. arenacea
O. phaeacantha with a hole in it..
Parkinsonia microphylla.. (little leaf Palo Verde)
Vlad's last flower for real.. it shot two more up the past few days
M. guelzowiana (If I can read my own writting lol)
Day 2
Day 2
O. ficus-indica.. it looks weird slightly crested?
O. englemannii.. braved 1 inch mesquite thorns to get that picture lol
O. engelmannii X O. phaeacantha (unless O. phaeacanta can grow 3.5 feet tall)
Acacia greggii
Soaring hawk that decided it was going to be evil and FLY away from me rapidly as soon as I wanted a picture
NEEDS a haircut lol E. senilis
Stenocactus likes to grow offsets?
YAY finally this saguaro which has three stems now from an older plant stump that lost it's main stem many many years ago is finally getting a flower that lived on it. The past 5 years it has had buds that turned black and died before they bloomed. I dont know why ..
now up to date
(edit a few more I forgot)
Cylindropuntia leptocaulis
another pic of the same plant
C. acanthacarpa var thornberi
Ferocactus cylindraceus
seedling at the base
Opuntia phaeacantha.. (notice the brown glochids?
)
Survivor of a weedwhacker strike!

Tony, to be honest, I have never seen them til this year. They get the fruits which means they bloom right? I always missed them.. probably too busy looking at more impressive Opuntia, but I love their flowers. They are simple but elegant I think.
Tristian, yes I have lots of color at the moment. Pretty soon things will wind down and it will be boring, but I enjoy this time of the year the most..(well and into saguaro blooming season
)
Rich R, cool. If you are ever headed this way let me know

haha well, Opuntia are very beautiful when they are in flower, or if they have neat spine structure like some of them do. I like them because the flowers are some of the best cacti produce. Sure there are some that I like just as much or more, but they are very consistent.
Ron, I will include some Agave pictures soon. I have forgotten to take some pictures of my Agave shelf ...
I think you will like what I did, even though it is very rough

ok some more pictures, sorry Ron, none of Agave, I was busy as hell potting up some Opuntia.. so here are the few pictures I took..
The last few Opuntia flowers. The second is O. gooseliana or whatever in my neighbor's yard.
Saguaro
Weird spot of buds poking out of the skin, wonder if I will get a little fuzzy baby arm there?
Another weird bud poking out of the skin.. What is the deal ? lol
Ok Ron I lied here is my somewhat sick Agave, too much sun?
O. ficus-indica cutting with a flower on it..

Quick, plant a tree next to that poor thing. How often are you watering?

A tree, or shade cloth. Someone needs to invent a spray-on sunscreen for plants...
