Mughal's little collection - 2012
Mughal's little collection - 2012
Excited by the first flowers of this season, I decided to start a topic of my own. The weather is still not perfect, but is definitely getting warmer.
Mamm (unknown) flowering
This is an old plant and has decided to divide dichotomously. Doesn't it look more like a white owl?
Another noid plant. Rich yellow flowers. I was out of station for the week, so missed the first flowers.
Its very easy to miss Melo flowers... but impossible to let the fruit go unnoticed.
And finally, Kalanchoe x houghtonii

"Rich yellow flower"... It's probably Parodia, but I have difficulty with the diagnosis of the species.
My Gallery: Echinopsis hybrid, Chamaecereus hybrid, Parodia, Echinocereus, Echinopsis

Thanks for the lead Artur. Will look up some photographs and try to hunt it down.

The NOID Mamm looks kind of like M. haageana, but I don't recall them splitting dicotomously. The dicotomous Mamms definitely have an owl look to them. Very nice!

Beautiful A. brevifolia! Make sure you post blossoms! I'd like to see how tall that stalk gets!
Once bitten by the cactus collecting/growing bug, there is no known cure!
There's no 12 step programme for Cactaholics...so I shall just have to get some more!!

Those stalks are the biggest I have ever seen on an aloe. I will try to cross pollinate the aloes and see if I get any seeds.
Another thing special about this aloe is that pups originate directly from the stems, not the basal pups like most of the other aloes. So they are not with roots. I would love to separate a few but I just don't wanna disturb this beautiful clump.
Sure I'll post the photos of the flowers.
