That is a great assortment of cacti that all have come into bloom at about the same time.
Thank you for posting the images, Arjen.

Hello Arjen,
I love that Echinocereus parkerii ssp. gonzalezii.
It must not be a very common species, because I have yet to encounter it whenever I was able to purchase cacti. Also, the Echinocereus knippelianus is a pretty little plant. I did buy one not too long ago, but it may not even flower next year. That is, if it does survive our hot summer and the winter months. I had bought one a few years ago and planted it in full sun shortly before going to Europe for my annual vacation. When I came back I could not find the cactus anymore. It must have just shrivelled up. That's why I planted the next one under my Chitalpa tree. It does still look very good and I hope it stays that way.

I looked it up in the pilbeam book and it said nothing about if e. parkerii ssp. gonzalezii is common or not
I bought it at a convention last year and haven't seen any other specimen anywhere since, so I guess it's indeed not very common
that knippelianus is very beautiful too, I bought it in bud about a week ago so the flower isn't from my effort, no matter, I like it a lot!
I wouldn't even dare growing any of these outside!
where in europe are you going this year?

Arjen, I will be going to visit my family, which lives very near the city of Bremen in northern Germany. Usually I do not travel much while in Europe, unless my wife is with me. She always insists on going to France to practice speaking French, because she is a foreign language teacher (German and French) at one of our local high schools.
