The same goes with G. saglionis as far as flowers not opening up all the way, in my experience.

Back from the Huntington Sale and a couple new bloomers for me conveniently waited for me to return!

First, gotta show a pic of my Notocactus tenuicylindrica (=Notocactus minimus) I obtained blooming from the HBG sale - one of my favorites I got there this past weekend.

Then, another Noto opened up for me today - this one a pink-flowered species, Notocactus herteri.

Then, my Weingartis lanata that I missed the first bloom burst of earlier this spring decided to cooperate and send up some more buds so I can actually see them this time - yeah! Another first for me.

And, although not a succulent, just had to post a pic of my Palo Brea (Parksinsonia praecox) blooms...all of the Palo Verdes & Palo Breas seem to be in bloom now - along with a bunch of Mesquites....it's turned the Valley of the Sun quite yellow!! Beautiful time of year.

yes my Foothills Palo Verde(Parkinsonia microphylla) is in full bloom.. it also means allergies, which I will live with because I love when things are in bloom here.
That first Noto is beautiful that you just picked up.
The second one looks almost like an Echinocereus flower :)
nice plants :)

That little notocactus is cool. I would love to get some seed from that if you get any.
If it is like most notcactus I have seen, it is self fertile.

Cool ramosisima flower. :)
