Thanks all! That Turbi is a nice one - so pleased with how it is responding to environment.

Yesterday, had another new bloomer for me: my first Mammillaria pottsii.
Luckily, there are more coming in...this first bloom was in a most inappropriate place...as I quickly found out when the nearby Dasyliron explained it to me.

Enjoy!

One of my newest acquisitions - Arrojadoa dinae. Can't take credit for the bloom - got it this way!
A fantastic genus I have been looking for for a while.
Hopefully, it will continue to flourish in my care.

Nice arrojadoa. Very strange flowers on that group. Maybe meant for hummers?

I'm sure hummers come into play in pollination of these types of flowers - South America is awash with hummers!

Another weekend acquisition decided to open a couple flowers today too: Echinomastus mariposensis.

Love that E. mariposensis! One of my first cactus hunts was looking them in Big Bend Ranch State Park in late February two years ago. They were growing with Epithelantha bokei and Mammillaria lasiacantha. Yours is a beauty.

Another fantastic acquisition from my weekend Tucson Nursery run - the rather pendent Echinocereus (Wilcoxia) schmollii.
Love the growth form of this species. The flower seemed to follow the sun all day.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

The parade continued today with another new one opening for me.
This time, Turbinicarpus alonsoi! I missed it when it was in full sun, so the pic didn't turn out so well - hope to catch it better tomorrow.

Great little plants Tristan!
So are these all in the ground in the new miniatures bed or scattered around?

Thanks all!
The Arrojadoa & Turbinicarpus alonsoi are both in the new bed, the others are scattered in other beds around the garden (all in-ground). The new bed looks really great with the new additions from the past couple of weeks! Right now it gets filtered shade, so pics are hard to take, but I will try to do so tomorrow.

Here's a pic of the new bed. A lot of back-breaking work with all the river rock (usually 10-12" deep) that had to be moved out! But, I like how it turned out!
Can you guess how many species are in the photo?? :D
