Are you sure 105 & 106 are G. Schroederianum ? !

it looks more like Gymnocalycium Intermedium Pil 118.

G. Schroederianum has much more radial spines , some are curved. the body is more dark and glossy. And the flowers on it are pink on opening and more salmon colour as the age. See my avatar pic

.

Glad to see the E. davisii, Ralf! I have a couple of tubs started since last Fall, but germination not the greatest & they've been very slow growing on top of it all! Does that sound familiar to you or not? Glad you're seeing Spring -- ours has been late, slow & wildly "yo-yo"! -- High in the 6 - 7C range 2 days ago, sleet & 12cm snow overnight, 14 - 15C Tues!
Once bitten by the cactus collecting/growing bug, there is no known cure!
There's no 12 step programme for Cactaholics...so I shall just have to get some more!!

Doc, I don't have any experience with the germination of this species. Anyway my two plants of it flowering synchronously so I've the chance to pollinate them for some seeds. You are right that it is a slow growing species but with the right care they offset and form nice clusters after a time.
Surprisingly they are not cold hardy as I first thought. The two plants I've planted on my flower bed died after the second winter. The new ones are now in my greenhouse and doing very well at this location.
Our winter here was unusually mild and short. We had only for about two weeks some snow and frost below 14F (-10°C). For the rest of the time it wasn't really a winter.

Time for the first flowers.
