Very nice Ario flowers! (and of course the Neoporterias too!)
A cactus and succulent collector who especially likes Ariocarpus. …Though I have a bit of everything! Want some pictures? See my flickr! I also do art and such.

Re: Ralf's collection - update 11/21/14
Thanks gem and Lara!
It seem that the flowering season don't stop this year. Here are two pictures I've taken yesterday.
The last weeks we have had quite mild weather without frost. That's really unusual for November.
The additional insulation is already on the greenhouse but it wasn't yet necessary to heating inside.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize that we cannot eat money.

Thanks, Craig!
I love your plants and pictures too!
I'm wondering that you never heard about Mammillaria saboae ssp. roczekii.
It was already described by Rischer and Krüger in 2003.
It is a really nice plant and I like its flowers.

Re: Ralf's collection - Season start 2015
Start of the season 2015 - finally!
The Mammillaria gracilis shown in the post above still has some buds and have had flowered again and again the whole winter till now.
I also had some flowers on Mammillaria plumosa, M. schiedeana and M. huitzilopochtli. Because of the bad light situation at this time I couldn't take any pictures of it.
Past week I had a view into the winter quarter where the more heat loving plants are placed during the winter.
There I've found a flowering Mammillaria giselae. What a surprise!
On some plants in the greenhouse are also some buds and first signs of buds. If the sun is shining the temperature raise up to 63F (17°C).
I guess it's only a question of weeks if they awake from its winter rest.
Some pictures taken yesterday.

Something more like to start in these days.
Unfortunately I'll miss some flowers because I'm gonna travel to Arizona in a couple weeks.

I really believe that cactus flowers can make someone happy!
Unfortunately I'll missing a lot flowers in the upcoming weeks because I'm in Arizona again.
On the other hand if I'm in Arizona I'll be happy every second.

You're having terrific results with the genera I've had no luck with, so I'll enjoy them vicariously!
Catch a falling star--but don't try it with a cactus!

Re: Ralf's collection - update 05/16/2015
Actually there's no secret to grow them with some success. I keep the most plants of them in 2x2x2.4 in (5x5x6 cm) small pots
with complete minerally soil. The pot size also depends on the expected plant size and their root size. Plants with bigger tap roots grow in
somewhat bigger and deeper pots. The lesser soil in the pots the faster it can drying after watering.
Watering only once the week and less fertilizer two or three times a year. Their location in the greenhouse is quite close under the roof
so they get the most direct sunlight and almost the hottest temperatures. Most of them flowering from spring until fall for several times.
Some pictures from begin of April.
