Stenocereus marginatus -- "Mexican fence post"

Habitat: Mexico.

This a very popular and common landscape cactus in the Tucson area -- hardy to 20°F (approx. -7°C) here and can tolerate even lower temperatures in favorable locations.

The following photos were taken at Bach's cactus nursery here in Tucson.

It can grow up to 20 ft.+ (6 meters+) tall if planted in good soil and given plenty of water in the hot summer months. It starts to bud during December here in Tucson and flowers in late winter or early spring.

Pilosocereus piauhyensis

Main habitat: arid regions of N.E Brazil.

A rare blue stemmed Brazilian columnar seldom encountered in cultivation.

If you remember from your last visit, Tristan, I ear-marked some cuttings for you that you can take back to Phoenix when you next come down to Tucson (this coming spring?)
